Left-Hand Drive

This car has been through more specification changes than any other Koenigsegg. As such, the gallery below contains a whopping seventy-six (76) photos to document its various iterations. In the history section, we will refer to various specifications using an “spec X/Y” format, where X is the exterior specification number and Y is the interior specification number, as detailed in the Exterior Spec and Interior Spec sections. For example, “spec 7/2” would be exterior spec #7 combined with interior spec #2.

General History

This Koenigsegg CCX was the first US-spec Koenigsegg delivered to a US-customer, arriving in 2007. It spent the first few years of its life in Scottsdale, Arizona under the ownership of Douglas Barkdull. In 2009, he had the car upgraded by Koenigsegg technicians at Ferrari of Scottsdale to produce roughly 980 hp instead of the regular 806 hp. It is unclear exactly how long Mr. Barkdull kept this CCX, but we believe it to be about six or seven years, and for this period it remained as spec 1/1.

In 2014, the car came up for sale privately with an asking price of $1,200,000. By 2017, the car had relocated to California, at which point it was offered for sale at iLusso, now sporting a white wrap (spec 2/1). It was offered for sale again at Prestige Imports Miami in late 2017 but appeared unsold and it returned to California. In late May of 2018, it made an appearance at a memorial car show in Valencia, California celebrating the life of the late actor Paul Walker. This CCX was then returned to spec 1/1 and put up for sale at RM Sotheby’s Fort Lauderdale auction in early 2019 with an odometer reading of 1003 miles, but yet again the car did not sell, hitting a high bid of $875,000.

Then, finally, in January 2020, this CCX was bought by Houston Crosta of Royalty Exotic Cars, an entrepreneur and YouTuber in Las Vegas, Nevada. During his ownership, he changed the exhaust and engine mapping. Houston owned this CCX for only about four months, though.

By April 2020, this CCX was sold to Randy Tillim of Savage Garage, a YouTuber and businessman based in Maryland and Florida. Right off the bat with Randy’s ownership, the car was wrapped in Nardo Grey (spec 3/1), though it did not retain this wrap for very long. By August 2020, the car was unwrapped (return to spec 1/1) before receiving red pinstripes a month later (spec 4/1). It was transported to California and participated in Gold Rush Rally in September 2021, where it infamously broke down resulting in Randy getting a phone call from Christian von Koenigsegg to resolve the problem, which was later discovered to be an easy fix. By early 2021, the spec changed to 5/1, which in its later form involved engine upgrades to produce 1200hp. Randy Tillim retained the CCX until mid-2021, when he sold it back to Houston Crosta.

The CCX returned to Las Vegas and underwent its most dramatic transformation yet, including a complete repaint and interior change: spec 6/2. In this specification, the CCX attended Monterey Car Week 2021 and even got the disapproving attention of Christian von Koenigsegg as Houston Crosta tried to source parts to continue his ‘frankenstein-CCX’ build.

By early 2022, Houston had sold this CCX for the second time and the car relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with its new owner, Josh Sweat, a defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. The car made its debut under its new ownership at the Philadelphia Auto Show in March 2022. By April 2022, the car changed to spec 7/2. In 2022, the car was kept between Pennsylvania and Florida, having received upgrades (including the spec 7/2 wrap) from 1K Motorsports based in Fort Myers, FL.

In January 2023, this CCX was spotted in the service centre of Koenigsegg Newport Beach, where it remained for a significant period of time being serviced. Later, the car relocated yet again, this time back to South Florida where it spent the rest of 2023 and attended numerous cars-and-coffee style events.

In early 2024, the car underwent another drastic spec change including a repaint (spec 8/3), unveiled in February. The car is still a frequent attendee at local South Florida car events. In May 2024, alongside a McLaren P1, this CCX participated in Gold Rush Rally “The Atlantic Tour” from Boston, MA to Boca Raton, FL, with Josh Sweat and Camilo Ceron (the owner of 1K Motorsports) as the drivers. Though this CCX seems to reside in Florida nearly full-time now, it still wears Pennsylvania license plate LYV-7703.
