General History

#7172 was the first Regera delivered to Canada. It arrived in April 2021 to OB Prestige Auto in Gatineau, Quebec. This was the second Koenigsegg delivered new to OB Prestige Auto, the first being the since-departed #7147. From Spring to mid-autumn 2022, this car was on display in the Grand Touring Automobiles Uptown showroom. Though it was not publicly listed for sale for some time, it was offered privately for sale by Grand Touring Automobiles from Summer 2022 until present. In February 2023, it was displayed at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. In June 2023, the car was purchased by its second owner, joining the Montreal-based “Davcars” collection. It was seen driving in Montreal during the F1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

However, just a few months later in September 2023, the car was once again for sale. This time, it was listed at Grand Touring Automobiles with 1,166km for $3,499,998 USD (using US dollars despite the dealer being in Canada) and would remain on the market for an entire year. With the dealership struggling to sell the car, the price was reduced to $3,299,998 USD (1,463km) and then to $2,999,998 USD. In March 2024, the car came up for auction on SBX Cars, a then-newly-launched car sales and auction site, but failed to sell.

In September 2024, Grand Touring Automobiles finally managed to sell the car. Sadly, though, the car would not head to a new home with a passionate enthusiast who will drive it. Instead, it was purchased by another dealership, namely Koenigsegg/McLaren of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival in Charlotte, the car was re-listed for sale at a much higher price: $3,799,996 USD (919 miles).

Exterior Spec

The exterior of this Regera is painted in Baby Blue and it has an Exposed Carbon Fibre centre section with diamond dust mixed into the clear coat. Further, 24K Gold Leaf striping is present on the hood and sides of the car. This car was optioned with the Ghost Package, hence the carbon aerodynamic fins on the front, sides, and rear of the car (near the wing). The car wears the Tresex AirCore Carbon wheels and the brake calipers are Baby Blue to match the exterior.

The interior of this car is Snow Leather (white) with Baby Blue stitching.

Trivia

In September 2021, this Regera participated in the “Race The Half” drag racing event at Maniwaki Airport in Messines, Quebec. The car clocked a top speed of 317km/h though the driver recounted that he actually wasn’t able to hit the top speed of the car before having to begin braking! If only the runway was longer…!
