Country: United States
Left-Hand Drive
General History
7226 was delivered in January 2020 to Koenigsegg Manhattan, a part of Manhattan Motorcars, in New York, USA. For more than two years after delivery, a few sightings of this car in the area had been reported but no photos surfaced. In 2021, the car appeared at Koenigsegg Chicago, where some of the first photos released publicly were taken. After spending time in Chicago, 7226 returned at some point to New York. It made its first public appearance in September 2022, a full 32 months after delivery, at The Bridge Hamptons, a concours event on Long Island, New York. From 2020 until late 2024, this car resided with its first owner in East Hampton on Long Island in New York.
Since September 2024, this Regera has been with its second owner in Sacramento, California. After about five months of ownership, the car was listed for sale on Sotheby’s Motorsport in the form of an online auction. The starting bid is $950,000 with bidding opening on February 5, 2025.
Name
This Regera is named Elegua. However, this is an unofficial name given by the owner post-delivery and not something done officially through the factory. During a 2021 servicing visit to Koenigsegg Chicago, 7226 received aftermarket badging reading “ELEGUA” in capital letters on the sides of the car and on the rear bonnet. Elegua is a deity of roads in a variety of Latin American religions, namely Santería, Umbanda, Quimbanda, and Cadomblé. The car also wears the personalized Montana license plate “ELEGUA”.
Exterior Spec
Despite not appearing over-the-top, this Regera is loaded with options and has an MSRP of $3,241,175, which is more than one million dollars above base price. The exterior of this Regera is painted in a custom one-off paint colour listed on the option sheet as “One Shade Darker Candy Apple Red” which, as the name suggests, is a slightly darker version of Koenigsegg’s now-iconic Candy Apple Red paint. This red is paired with an exposed carbon fiber centre section and black striping on the hood. This car features the Ghost Package, a $285,000 option, as well as the Environmental Power Upgrade, which boosts output to 1.31MW (1,757hp) for $250,000. The car sports the Tresex AirCore Carbon wheels ($57,000) and the brake calipers are black.
Interior Spec
Most of the interior is Lingonberry Leather, including the dash and outer parts of the seats. The inner part of the seats is Desiato Leather with Lingonberry stitching.
